Check whether you’re covered*

If you have not yet departed:

If you are currently travelling:

  • If you purchased your policy on or after Monday 12 August 2019, the recent airport occupation, and any future occupation, will not be considered to be an unexpected event and no cover is available.
  • Claims relating to the previous strikes by airport workers, or the ongoing protests in Hong Kong (outside of the airport occupation), will be assessed on a case by case basis, and cover is dependent on several factors including the nature of your claim and the date you purchased your policy.
  • Please contact your service provider in the first instance. Airlines, accommodation providers and tour companies may provide refunds, credit notes or alter your bookings without charging additional fees.
  • If you do need to rebook your accommodation or flights, these should be of the same class as those that were originally purchased.
  • Keep all copies of receipts and boarding cards and submit your claim on your return to Australia.

If you have arrived home but incurred costs as a result of the protests:
