Cover for adventure activities
Adventure travel is a popular way to see the world, but it pays to know what you’re covered for. These quick videos look at a few of the key questions surrounding adventure travel, and what your travel insurance will cover.
Adventure travel - am I covered?
If you’re planning your next adventure, you’ll want to know which activities we can offer you cover for. We get some advice from our staff on what activities you’re covered for and what you need to keep in mind.
Adventure travel - how we cover your sports equipment
An important part of most adventure travel is the equipment that goes with it. Our staff talk about what equipment we can cover you for and any special considerations you’ll need to think about.
Adventure travel - what to do if something goes wrong
There’s always a risk that something unexpected might happen, but we’re here to help. Let’s talk about what you can do if something does go wrong on your adventures.
Here are a few other things you’ll want to consider if you’re going on an adventure holiday.
We can cover you up to $1,500 per item for unspecified items like helmets, ropes or sports cameras. However, when it comes to specialist sports equipment, it’s important to note that your higher value items will need to be specified in your policy. After all, you’ll want to know that your $5,000 mountain bike is covered!
You can specify your items at the time of purchasing a policy online. We will cover your sports equipment and bicycles if they are lost, stolen or damaged, but not if they are damaged whilst in use.
Activities we cover
We cover a wide range of popular activities, so you’re able to really make the most of your holiday. Just be sure your adventure activities are booked with a registered licenced operator – that way, you’re covered if the unexpected happens.
Here’s a few common activities you might be planning:
- Bungy jumping
- Hot air ballooning
- Sky diving
- Mountaineering (without guides or ropes)
- Scuba diving (with a qualified instructor or if you hold an open water diving certificate)
- Hang gliding
- White water rafting
- Zip lining
Sorry, but we just can’t cover you for:
- Base jumping
- Free climbing
- Motor sports
There are many other activities we can cover, so for a more detailed list of what we can and can’t cover you for, have a look at our policy wording or feel free to contact our team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you’re planning to compete in (or train for) any activity that has prize money or is a registered event, we wish you the best of luck but unfortunately we can’t offer you cover.
Now that you’re up to speed with our adventure cover, it’s probably time to book your next trip. Go on, get out there and enjoy yourself!
